About

Young children need you! Help them by volunteering as a literacy tutor with AARP Experience Corps - Greater New Haven. We are looking for volunteers age 50 and older to tutor students in literacy 3 times a week in area elementary schools or at New Haven Reads after school literacy tutoring progarm. Experience Corps volunteers also promote reading at fun community events. No experience needed. Training is provided and begins in October. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a literacy screening and background check by fingerprints. Small stipend and funding to help child/grandchild pay for college provided.
