MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE BY HELPING YOUNG CHILDREN LEARN TO READ. Become a volunteer literacy tutor with Experience Corps - Greater New Haven! We need volunteers, 55+, to tutor students in literacy twice a week in one of our participating Hamden, New Haven and East Haven elementary schools or afterschool progarms (average 6 hours weekly) from October to June. You bring your love of reading and wealth of experience and we provide the training (begins in early October.)

Requirements: a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent reading and writing skills, patience & flexibility, enjoy being with young children, be able to pass a background check by fingerprints.
