Run a Mobile Farmers' Market for Seniors - Delivery Service

ORGANIZATION: Nourishing the North Shore

Nourishing the North will operate several Mobile Farmers' Markets for seniors from June to October. Teams are needed on Friday mornings to:

  • pick up produce at the farm in West Newbury
  • deliver some produce in a community refrigerator at the Salisbury Housing Authority
  • drive to Sullivan Building in Newburyport and set up and operate a mini-market from 10 to 11 am (table will be there)
  • drive to Newbury Village in Newbury and set up and operate a mini-market from 11:15 to 12:15
  • return leftover produce to the farm in West Newbury
This is an exciting new venture -- taking fresh vegetables to places where seniors live. Be a part of the team. Van will be available for transporting. Good driving record and ability to lift and carry crates required.

Our programs include VegOut (fresh produce access and distribution program), "Pitch In" volunteer teams, food recovery, community events and garden-based education. All of our programs support healthy eating, local farms, and community building. We are committed to breaking down the barriers to healthy eating presented by traditional food sourcing.
