iVIE Student Film Festival and Awards

Thank you for volunteering for the 17th annual Innovative Video in Education Awards (iVIE) & Student film festival!

The iVIE awards is a K-12 student video competition and festival that encourages and rewards teachers who utilize video as a project-based learning tool in their classrooms, and students who use film and visual literacy to demonstrate their understanding of classroom concepts.

Learn about filmmaking while helping a cool cause! Meet other filmmakers (both professional and students) from throughout San Diego County! Creative Careers Expo, Live entertainment, food, celebrity hosts like Ethan Cole from 93.3FM, Luis Cruz from San Diego Union-Tribune, & more!

The film festival, awards ceremony & Creative Careers Expo will be taking place at:

Lincoln High School Performing Arts Center
4777 Imperial Avenue
San Diego, CA 92113

Make sure you take note of where you will report to.Please choose your volunteer shift according to your availability. Show up at least 15 minutes early to facilitate the sign-in procedure.

We would like to maintain a very simple dress code for our volunteers:
Black top, neutral colored bottoms. If you choose to wear something else, please make sure it does NOT contain offensive text or images. As volunteers of the festival, it is your responsibility to uphold the integrity of our event.

**Setup (9:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Please report to the volunteer booth to check-in to begin your shift. You will be issued a volunteer pass which must be returned at the end of your shift. **Ushers for iVIE Elementary School Student Film Festival (11:30 am - 1:00 pm)
Please report to the volunteer booth to check-in to begin your shift. You will be issued a volunteer pass which must be returned at the end of your shift. **Set Up and Usher Creative Career Expo (12:30 pm - 4:00)
Please report to the volunteer booth to check-in to begin your shift. You will be issued a volunteer pass which must be returned at the end of your shift. **Ushers for iVIE Middle School Student Film Festival (1:40 pm - 3:00 pm)
Please report to the volunteer booth to check-in to begin your shift. You will be issued a volunteer pass which must be returned at the end of your shift. **Ushers for iVIE High School Student Film Festival (3:40 pm - 5:10 pm)
Please report to the volunteer booth to check-in to begin your shift. You will be issued a volunteer pass which must be returned at the end of your shift. **Red Carpets and Photo Ops/ Pre Awards Ceremony (4:45 pm - 5:45 pm)

**2018 iVIE Awards Ceremony (6:00 pm - 8:30 pm)

**Post-Ceremony Cleanup of Venue and Facilities

Description

MACSD has been changing lives through film and technology for the past 25 years. Some of the key programs and services of Media Arts Center San Diego include: Youth Media/Education Programs (i.e. Teen Producers Project, Youth Media & Tech Camps, etc.). Exhibition (i.e. Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival, Monthly Cinema en tu Idioma Series, Digital Gym CINEMA North Park, Que Viva Cine Latino, etc.). Community Production (i.e. Video Production Services, Speak City Heights, Fiscal Sponsorship, Frontera Filmmakers, etc.).
