Currently the Logistics and Fulfillment departments do not have clear visibility on how much time drivers are using to do tasks related to loading/unloading their trucks. We are trying to reshape how this is done internally but within CFB’s current resources. To be able to restructure in an effective manner, we need an unbiased study on how long different tasks take drivers to accomplish, especially since we want to transition those duties to other departments to better serve our clients. The longer we can keep drivers on the road delivering food, the more people we can help as an organization. This position entails working with both the Logistics department and Fulfillment in helping give unbiased data and putting that data in easily read pivot tables/charts so that the operations team at CFB can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Tasks

· Ride with different driver’s on their full route, including Food Rescue, and Food Distributions taking consistent and accurate timings for different driver activities including; loading, unloading, customer service, and paperwork.

· Compile data from all different sources and put it in a readily usable form for CFB personnel. Preferably in Excel

· Examine what factors heavily influence different timings while on routes with drivers.

· Extrapolate from data sets gathered to show projected future needs for Logistics and Fulfillment teams.

Ideal candidate qualifications:

Someone with a background in statistics, mathematics, business operations, or other assorted STEM background. Strong Excel skills. 20 hours, 2-3 days a week May to August. Ability to ride along on full route, some days the start times are 4:30AM to as late as 6AM. 8 to 10-hour shifts depending on the route and traffic. Candidate would be timing the driver, not doing the physical labor associated with the driver’s route.
