Tandem, Partners In Early Learning

Activities include:

  • Learning about Tandem’s programs and the Early Childhood Education and Development sector
  • Learning basic fundraising theory
  • Learning how to conduct grant research
  • Learning how to use tools such as Foundation Center’s database, Guidestar, reading Form 990s, Salesforce, and others
  • Finding and vetting new grant prospects
  • Writing outreach letters (also called Letter of Interest, or LOI)
  • Practice writing grants

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Be able to attend initial one hour in-person training at Tandem’s headquarters: 1275 Fairfax Avenue, Suite 201, San Francisco, CA 94124
  • Be able to volunteer for 5 to 10 hours per month
  • Commit to minimum of three months
  • Access to a computer with Internet connection
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets a plus (Tandem Google account will be provided)
