Animal Lovers Needed to Join the team that plans the Atlanta Strut Your Mutt Event!

Best Friends Animal Society is looking for volunteers who are passionate about animals, fundraising and event planning to join the leadership planning committee in your community for the trademark Strut Your Mutt event series. Time will fly during this four to five month experience. Volunteers will work on a committee with other passionate and talented individuals guided by Best Friends Animal Society event staff.
Event Coordinator - The primary role of the Event Coordinator is to plan the local logistics and entertainment for the Strut Your Mutt (SYM) event. This position works closely with Best Friends staff representatives and other local volunteers. In each market, 3- 4 volunteers will be recruited as Event Coordinators for the planning team. All Event Coordinators will work together to complete team tasks, as well as lead and manage various areas independently. National Events team staff will assist in delegating responsibilities based on individual strengths and interests to promote efficiency and teamwork.
Marketing Outreach Lead - The Strut Your Mutt Volunteer Marketing Outreach Lead will be responsible for promoting the local Strut Your Mutt event to potential participants through grassroots marketing efforts. The goal is to raise awareness and attendance of the event in their local market by promoting the event to as many people as possible and getting them excited to register for Strut Your Mutt. The lead should use creative and resourceful thinking to reach and excite the masses about the event, and include tactics such as outreach to local businesses and organizations that can promote the event to their audiences, tabling at community events, local calendar/community listings, leveraging community influencers, targeting organizations and community groups to form teams, and collateral distribution.
The Atlanta event is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th.
