Community Outreach
Branch President James Muwakkil and members of the NAACP speak at All Faiths Unitarian Universalist Church in Fort Myers.

We are looking for people who have experience with business, social justice, the military, community outreach, public schools, and more. We also need help with social media, office administration and fundraising. We have committees that deal with education, criminal justice, economic development, press and publicity, women's issues, voter registration, health, religious affairs, membership and finance. If you have experience in any of these areas, or an interest in helping out, please contact us. If you are interested in helping, we will find a role for you!

Mission Statement

The NAACP's principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of United States and eliminate race prejudice. The NAACP seeks to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through the democratic processes.

Description

The Lee County, Florida NAACP has a long history of addressing widespread inequality in our county. Our chapter was founded in 1938 and we have worked since then to ensure justice in our schools, our police department, and our government agencies. We help people who are facing discrimination in employment, banking and housing. We strive to make sure that all Americans are treated equally.
