ORGANIZATION: Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma

"Cooking Matters" is a program of the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma that is designed to teach low income families how to cook healthy on a budget. Each course is comprised of six classes that happen once a week for two hours. The first hour is a nutrition lesson and the second hour is a hands-on cooking demonstration. I am looking for two volunteers; one to lead the nutrition lessons and one to lead the hands-on cooking demonstration. As a volunteer in either position you will receive an instructors guide including nutrition lessons and recipes. If you would like more information about the volunteer positions or have any questions please email me at kwickersham@okfoodbank.org or call me at (918)936-4566.

Cooking Matters is completely free to the participants and all participants receive a bag of groceries at the end of each class that contain the exact ingredients from the lesson. This is an amazing program that serves those who receive benefits from SNAP, WIC and other assistance programs!
