ORGANIZATION: Sunnyside Community Services

Sunnyside Community Services’ program, called Sunnyside Up, provides parents with an alternative pre-K option. The program is run out of 39-01 Queens Blvd.

The Sunnyside Up program offers free half-day programs, with a fee for those parents who want their child to remain in pre-K after care for the remainder of the day. We are looking for volunteers, over the age of 19, who can assist the pre-school teachers with a variety of tasks.

The key responsibility will be to support and work with the assistant teachers for a productive learning environment. Interact with the kids whether in the form of reading to them or playing with them.

This position is needed thru June 19 only. Volunteers need to arrive by 2:30 pm and assist with dismissal until approximately 5:30 pm.

No teaching experience required and anyone over the age of 19 can volunteer. Our greatest need is for Wednesdays and Fridays 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The language requirement is English with Spanish a plus.
