Volunteers are needed to assist with sorting mail, inventory of community donations, greeting clients at the front desk, and data entry. Volunteers are needed regularly. Volunteer hours may be scheduled for any Monday through Friday from 11 am - 3 pm.

Mission Statement

Thrive DC works to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives. Thrive DC envisions a city in which the community unites to ensure that vulnerable individuals have the necessary support and resources to lead fulfilling and stable lives free of homelessness.


Thrive DC is an independent 5013 nonprofit organization, who has been serving the DC community since 1979. Thrive DC offers breakfast and dinner to more than 250 homeless and poor men, women, and children each day. Thrive DC also gives immediate crisis assistance, acts as an outreach site for partner agencies, and provides information, referral, and emergency social services. Thrive DC also provides intensive employment training designed to help individuals transition out of homelessness and develop the skills needed to live independently.
