We are looking for volunteers to help cook a community meal for our international guests at HI Richmond.
Community meals are a great way to bring people together from various backgrounds and parts of the world to learn about one another.
Volunteers are responsible for cooking and serving meal, facilitating conversation between guests and cleaning up.

Community meals are every Thursday and volunteers arrive 6:30 pm, ending by or before 8:30PM.
No experience needed--training provided.

  • Work to increase understanding and tolerance by helping people break down cultural barriers

Hostelling International USA is proud to announce the opening of our newest hostel in the heart of Downtown Richmond, Virginia! HI Richmond joins the ranks of HI USA's highly rated urban hostels and is another great stop for travelers exploring the East Coast. The historic brick building has undergone a complete renovation and features all the latest amenities travelers require, like free Wi-Fi and breakfast, in a space that captures the spirit and essence of this vibrant Southern city.

In addition, at HI Richmond we offer our travelers several opportunities to come together for cultural exchange and connect with the local community. These opportunities include weekly community meals, movie nights and tours of local Richmond hotspots. HI Richmond is looking for great volunteers to assist with these great activities.
