Mission Statement

Caridad strives to humanize the homeless by providing a customer service approach to street outreach. Assistance to our homeless clients is provided in a dignified way. We empower our clients to voice their needs. Our homeless clients use our concierge services, to improve their lives, get housed and increase their future potential. Caridad is able to provide this customer service approach by targeting a specific geographical footprint that can be walked each day to reach the homeless in need of assistance. By creating a walkable territory Caridad is able to work with homeless clients, parking enforcement, security teams, and business owners. The Caridad team utilizes these community partners to engage and assist our homeless clients with holistic solutions and case management.

Description

An astounding $1.2 billion dollars have been invested in the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas, yet homelessness continues to affect every resident and business. Las Vegas isn't lacking beds or resources, but an effective system to place the homeless in the appropriate agency. Caridad strives to act as the collaborative network to connect homeless agencies to a functional zero.

Caridad was first created in 2010 as a clothing drive for local homeless charities in San Diego, CA. Since its move to Las Vegas, NV, Caridad has partnered with numerous homeless outreach organizations and Las Vegas business, companies. We are well positioned in the community, Caridad is known as the collaborative partner to connect the homeless focused agencies. We are confident that we can accomplish a functional zero by providing a streamlined service to more effectively and efficiently serve clients, avoiding wastage and duplication of services.

Caridad achieved an 80% operational benefit to 20% administrative cost margin in 2016. Our 2017 budget improved this ratio to a 9% administrative dollar. You can trust that when you give to Caridad it will go to make a difference, towards our programs. Your donations will not be wasted, about 91 cents to the dollar will go directly to assist the homeless. We want you to be part of this incredible mission and join a team of passionate humanitarians who are vested in the Las Vegas community, working to end homelessness, one person at a time.
