The Texas Folklife Festival is the biggest cultural celebration in Texas! More than 40 different cultural groups in Texas are represented at the festival, and each year, more than 250 participants come together to celebrate their culture and heritage. Located on the grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures on the UTSA Hemisfair Campus, this year’s three-day event once again showcases the Lone Star State’s diversity and rich heritage through a wide variety of ethnic food, music, dance, arts, and crafts.

Mission Statement
The American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions
(AIT-SCM) is a nonprofit organization established by the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan Nation, descendants of the aboriginal people who populated South Texas and Northeast Mexico. The organization works for the preservation and protection of the culture and traditions of the Native American tribes and other indigenous people who resided in the Spanish colonial missions.
AIT-SCM provides a wide array of programs that address the social needs and cultural aspirations of the diverse indigenous communities in San Antonio, Texas.
Description
Volunteers are the life blood of our organization. Since we are a Native American non-profit organization we have many opportunities to experience indigenous and cultural events. We are a small staff of 9 and operate over 5 programs that serve the youth and the community of San Antonio. We hold many events with the indigenous communities as well as with the population throughout San Antonio and the south Texas region.
