About

The YMCA Host Homes program matches young adults (ages 18-24), who are unstably housed or at risk of losing their housing with a caring and supportive host family. Host families are volunteers from the community who willingly offer a room in their home to provide safe, short-term housing and support to young people as they work toward gaining stability and becoming independent.

This program is in need of a Summer Outreach Volunteer! The volunteer role will entail a lot of community outreach, bringing awareness to homelessness prevention and working closely with our the Program Director! The position will run between the months of May - August at 5-10 hours per week. We're looking for both weekday and weekend availability. Below are more specifics on the opportunity. Main Responsibilities:

  • Table at community events throughout the summer
  • Learn about the different programs throughout Accelerator to be able to answer questions about the organization
  • Contact community connections about hosting tables/information sessions
  • Researching and marketing community events
  • Help bring community knowledge about the Accelerator programs
  • Attend Farmer's Markets
