The YMCA Host Homes program matches young adults (ages 18-24), who are unstably housed or at risk of losing their housing with a caring and supportive host family. Host families are volunteers from the community who willingly offer a room in their home to provide safe, short-term housing and support to young people as they work toward gaining stability and becoming independent.
This program is in need of a Summer Outreach Volunteer! The volunteer role will entail a lot of community outreach, bringing awareness to homelessness prevention and working closely with our the Program Director! The position will run between the months of May - August at 5-10 hours per week. We're looking for both weekday and weekend availability. Below are more specifics on the opportunity. Main Responsibilities:
- Table at community events throughout the summer
- Learn about the different programs throughout Accelerator to be able to answer questions about the organization
- Contact community connections about hosting tables/information sessions
- Researching and marketing community events
- Help bring community knowledge about the Accelerator programs
- Attend Farmer's Markets

The Y Social Impact Center offer services at dozens of program sites in Seattle and King County, building stronger community as part of the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s family of branches and camps.
