Volunteers are needed to be compassionate and patient with our dementia and alzheimer's patients who are in need of social interaction through the activity of being read to. These activities provide patients with comfort and peace which is so critical in their state.
There is also an opportunity to be a junior book reader, for volunteers under the age of 18. These volunteers must be accompanied by a guardian.
Disclaimer:
Tuberculosis skin tests, drug screenings and background checks are required for adult volunteers and are provided by Homestead at no cost.
