This is a great "Volunteer At Home" opportunity for moms, kids, teens, grandmothers, groups etc...!! Our Boutique and Thrift Shop - Common Things sells items that are donated to help feed hungry families. Our volunteer is moving that handled this department, so we need volunteers to step up and help us. Every week the items are picked up by the volunteers and processed. Some items need to be tested to see if they work. Others need to be cleaned up and/or double checked to see if all the pieces are there etc.. Our volunteers love putting together themed sets. They are then packaged and priced. Once they're ready to be put on the sales floor, they bring the items in and display them in the toy area. Our toy department is very attractive and our customers with children love it. We price items so that every budget can grab great items at great prices. We can train and assist you as needed, so if you're unsure of anything no problem we are here to help. Often children enjoy helping with the processing and they learn that helping prepare toys for other children will bring happiness to those buying the items and also help feed hungry children in the community. All around its an awesome project that "makes a difference"!
