ORGANIZATION: We Connect The Dots

CreatingSTEAM is a 10 day experiential learning program where students gain competencies in 21st century workforce skills and awareness of STEAM career opportunities for today and in the future. Teacher volunteers and students are involved in designing and teaching the sessions or co-teaching with STEAM industry experts.

As a volunteer, you will help and mentor students by being interactive and supportive during the program when the students need help. You will have the opportunity to learn along the students and inspire them to be life-long learners. Other duties might include registration, setting up and cleaning up before and after the program as needed.

Do I need to have technology skills to volunteer?

No, technology skills are not required, but certainly are a plus if you have them. Either way you will learn through participating with the students. The most important skill or requirement is the desire to help students learn and motivate them to be successful. You will come away with new and valuable technology skills. Our program incorporates a variety of team building activities that support our goal to engage students to work collaboratively. The result is that by volunteering you will benefit from the experience and come away with valuable skills.
