Volunteer Chore Services of Spokane is seeking volunteers for our summer lawn mowing program. VCS provides free yard work services to low-income elderly adults and adults with disabilities who no longer have the physical strength to maintain their yards.
Volunteers can choose what part of Spokane or Spokane Valley they would like to mow lawns in. Some clients have their own mowers, but volunteers who can provide a mower are especially welcome! Because of the vulnerable population that we serve, all volunteers are required to complete an application which asks for 3 references and authorization to run a background check.
Volunteer Chore Services is a department of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington. We provide housework, yard work and transportation services that enable low-income seniors and disabled adults to remain in their own homes with dignity, safety and connection to the community.

Description
Volunteer Chore Services is a program of Catholic Charities, started as a safety net for elders and adults with disabilities who do not qualify for state-paid chore assistance and cannot afford to hire assistance. Assistance includes housework, laundry, transportation, shopping and various other independent living requests.
Catholic Charities affirms the dignity of every person, partnering with parishes and the greater community to serve and advocate for those who are vulnerable, bringing stability and hope to people throughout Eastern Washington.
Volunteers can choose which chore or chores they wish to help with and how often they want to help. Volunteers can set their own schedules.
