Save the Cats AZ

We have around 60 very cared-for cats at any given time in our NO KILL RESCUE. These are cats that have been rescued from abandonment and neglect in the Phoenix, AZ area. Many have come to us from our own volunteers' efforts to save them from cat hoarders unable to provide a safe, healthy environment. Around 20 of our cats are the "OGs" who've been with us for 10 or more years, and love to interact with the others including our volunteers! Many of our cats are rehabilitated feral, or are still a bit feral. But, with a little TLC so many have domesticated and been adopted into their 'furever' home. Do not let the previously-feral nature of our cats stop you from volunteering. They are not aggressive and will just walk or hide away if they don't want to be near people inside the enclosure. We view our facility as a safe haven for these rescued cats.

The facility is approx 1,100 sq feet of fully enclosed open air, consisting of free-roaming fenced & walled areas. This includes an attached, cat & people accessible, elongated shed with air-conditioning and heat to protect our kitties as they desire.

We have two shifts per day, 7 days-a-week, in the morning and afternoon. Typical duties include cleaning litter boxes, changing drinking water, feeding, general tidying-up, changing cat-bed blankets, and (the best part!) socializing & petting the cats.

We're looking for people who can commit to a minimum one shift per week to establish a relationship with our rescues. A shift is anywhere from 1-2 hrs typically, but maybe you'll want to stay longer.

It’s such a rewarding place to interact with kitties who long for love and affection. So many have distinctive personalities that will become your personal favorites.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please visit https://savethecatsaz.org/volunteer/ to fill out a volunteer application!

Hope to see you soon!

6. Periodic deep cleaning (group volunteering) opportunities have been suspended until further notice.
