Outside2Inside (O2I) is a non-profit organization based in Bay area, focused on reducing food waste through prevention, recovery and recycle though various creative programs.
Kids Food Waste Awareness Program is to bring awareness of food waste to kids in local schools and its reduction by Prevention, Recovering & Recycling. This is implemented by providing hands-on class projects which are designed to nourish their practical thinking ability. Our goal is to conduct this program in 5 schools per year and bring awareness of Food waste to 500+ kids.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will be responsible for identifying potential schools for conducting the Kids food waste awareness (KFWA) program. This person will closely coordinate with the Outside2Inside (O2I) KFWA program manager and help with identifying schools, understanding the school approval process, developing information sessions/pitch to inspire and garner school’s support for the KFWA program.
- To come up with a list of potential schools (minimum of 5 schools) in bay area to run the KFWA program.
- Researching on schools in bay area based on food access to students, income level of school, food waste awareness, and charter/private/public schools.
- Identifying point of contact in each of these schools.
- Identify criteria to get school approval to conduct the KFWA program in their premises.
- Create a pitch to inspire the kids, teachers and other volunteers about the mission/vision of O2I, KFWA program and to reduce food waste in general.
- Manages the Outreach Coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Basic understanding of After school programs.

Reducing hunger by recovering ugly produce at low cost and sharing with the needy, underprivileged people in Santa Clara county. 3. Provide a clean, pollution-free environment by recycling food waste into organic compost at densely populated urban households and reducing landfills. 4. Provide low-cost animal care in local farms by recycling food waste into animal feed reducing wastage of resources.

We prevent food waste through awareness programs, bringing food waste realization among the community, corporates and youth/kids.
Our Food recovery programs like Farm2School, Farm2Restaurant, and Farm2Work recovers the unattractive but otherwise nutritious produce from local farms and serve the deprived, needy in our society.
Our recycle program converts food waste into organic compost and animal feed serving urban households & local farms.
Outside2Inside is formed by a group of spirited individuals with the aim to reduce waste, hunger and create a clean, peaceful, healthy environment. This organization is based in Bay area.
