General Description

Over 800 members strong, MAVA is the largest professional membership association for leaders of volunteers in the state of Minnesota. It is an alliance of individuals and networks dedicated to providing support and resources to those who lead volunteers. MAVA unites administrators of structured volunteer programs as well as those who have an interest in promoting volunteerism across the state. Through its advocacy efforts, MAVA provides a respected, energetic voice for volunteerism across Minnesota.

MAVA’s Annual Conference brings people from all over the world to learn how to more efficiently lead, train, and supervise volunteers. With a lot of moving parts, we need volunteers to help us give the best experience to our conference guests including room hosting, greeting, and problem solving. Dakota County is partnering with MAVA to help provide volunteers for this event.

Various Shifts

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and check in volunteers as they arrive at the event
• Distribute summit materials
• Assist with organizing materials
• Provides direction, assistance, and information to event attendees

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Ability to follow directions
• General knowledge of facility and event layout
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Interest in the field of Volunteerism

Minimum Time Commitment

3 hour shifts

Activity Level

Mild - May include walking short distances over relatively level terrain. Periods of standing or sitting will be required. Comfortable shoes recommended.
