Summer Meals Delivery

ORGANIZATION: Horizons, A Family Service Alliance

Children who rely on school meals during the school year often go without 3 full meals every day during the summer. The Summer Meals program provides free meals to any child aged 18 or younger who qualifies for free or reduced lunch during the school year.

Summer Meals volunteers will pick up meals from Horizons, deliver to a site, and will assist by distributing the meals to the children and make sure the site operates according to requirements.

Our 2018 sites include: Five Seasons Mobile Home Park, Marion Public Library, and Kirkwood Estates Mobile Home Park.

Drivers must have a current driver's license, be able to drive their own vehicle, and must provide proof of auto insurance. Volunteers must also complete a background check prior to delivering meals. Youth are welcome to accompany an adult driver on deliveries!

Please contact Sandy Rosenberger at srosenberger@horizonsfamily.org or call (319) 375-3108 if you're interested!
