About Gift and Thrift, Inc.

Location:

731 Mount Clinton Pike, HARRISONBURG, VA 22802, US

Mission Statement

Gift and Thrift, Inc. is a nonprofit organization. We are committed to Christian faith in action, offering a friendly, caring presence in the community while addressing the stewardship of our environment and supporting the primary goals of Mennonite Central Committee.

Description

Gift and Thrift, Inc. provides a place for community members to drop off used items including books, furniture, clothing, electronics and other household items instead of putting them in the landfill. Items are treated with care as they are processed, cleaned, repaired, priced, and put out for sale. Gift & Thrift donates a portion of our proceeds to the Mennonite Central Committee, which works for peace and justice throughout the world. We also support more than a dozen local nonprofits that serve at-risk people in our community. Lastly, we work hard to keep as much as possible out of the dump. Whenever possible, we give new life to things once deeply loved!

Our volunteers sort, clean, and repair these items and place them in our retail area or on-line for resale. Much of what we cannot use we recycle.
