mentor2.0

Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak
Colorado Springs, CO

Mentor2.0 matches high school students of Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community to provide the students with guidance and support through their high school career to prepare them for the future.

The majority of the mentorship is done over a secure online platform (iMentor) as a "pen pal mentorship," exchanging messages regarding curricular assignments and questions of life. This allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules.

In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring hosted at Atlas Preparatory School and facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters. This program would be great for a company who values their employees volunteering in the community. Your employees and colleagues can simply leave work together, attend the event together - volunteering together.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age, and have a form of post-secondary education, training or certification. Volunteers must also be able to pass a background check.

We are seeking people who can commit to the program for four years. We want to match students from freshman year through graduation. Many of these students need an example of consistency and commitment in their life.

This program is our biggest need for volunteers. Over the next three to four months, we need to recruit 130 volunteer mentors to match with the upcoming freshman class of students at Atlas Prep.

Please consider volunteering today! Also, please spread the word about this program. Any and all help with recruiting mentors would be greatly appreciated. If you think your company would be interested in partnering with us, to commit to this program, don't hesitate to reach out.
