The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is accepting applications from those interested in becoming a Museum Docent. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy being with adults and children, want to learn something new and interact with the public.
Those who apply to become a Museum Docent must be available mornings for our school and adult tours. Being comfortable speaking in front of a group is a definite plus. All necessary training materials and information will be provided. There are opportunities to docent at evening and weekend events.

We engage and educate current and future generations by preserving and sharing McHenry County history.
Description
Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
