Are you looking for a new opportunity for your Pet Therapy Dog? Grace Hospice is seeking registered Pet Therapy Dogs to join our team! You would never know how much these pet therapy visits impact the lives of those on hospice until you witness this first hand. There is an unspoken connection between the animal and hospice patient which is amazing to experience. These visits are very meaningful to our patients. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families and to treat each patient as we would our own family member. For many, their illness has forced them to give up their own pet, or change in their living arangement no longer permits them to have one. As an animal lover, I am sure you will understand the heart-break that can cause. You sharing your beloved furry friend can help and give that wonderful feeling of companionship back to them. Description
HarmonyCares Hospice of Indiana is the first HarmonyCares Hospice in the state and has Nurses, CNA's/Hospice Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers that assist the patients and support their families wherever the patient considers their "home" to be.
The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.
Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame.
We strive to improve the quality of life for all we serve including our patient's families, their neighbors, and the community they live in. We strive to make an impact with everyone we meet and improve the community as a whole.
