Mission Statement
ReSOURCE’s mission is to meet community and individual needs through : (1) education and job skills training (2) environmental stewardship (3) economic opportunities
Description
In pursuit of our goals, ReSOURCE works to create:
Environmental Stewardship: Reuse rather than recycle. One result of this stewardship is the 1,115 tons of materials ReSOURCE diverted from the landfill last year.
Educational Training: Building employment skills. All of our Departments and stores are learning classrooms and much of this training would not be possible without our Environmental Stewardship that provides the training materials and learning opportunities.
Economic Opportunity: Providing essential goods and services. Through our effective programs and success at Environmental Stewardship and Educational Training, we are able to offer the Essential Goods Program and donate necessary items to families in need, as well as offer refurbished items at an affordable price to the general public. In addition, our retail operations help support our stewardship and training efforts, which lead to gainful employment for our graduates. Last year we were able to give away more than $100,000 worth of household goods, building materials, and large appliances to low income individuals and those in need, including $14,000 to victims of the flooding.
