We are looking for a Vice President of Fundraising.
The Vice President of Fundraising is responsible for all fundraising and development activities for Hearts & Bones. Candidate will develop and implement a strategic development plan for the organization, oversee all fundraising activities and is a key fundraiser responsible for expanding and diversifying the organization's funder base. The Vice President of Fundraising also will design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support. Responsible for building out the fundraising team and staffing appropriately. This is a leadership role.

Compensation: Volunteer
Time Requirement: 10 - 15 hours per week. Specific hours are generally flexible. Timely replies via e-mail and phone are critical to success in this role. Attendance required at fundraising events.
Reports To: Executive leadership team
Works With: This position corresponds with the marketing team, events team, and executive leadership team on a regular basis.
Skills/Required Qualifications: Experience in non-profit development required. Must be willing to provide professional references. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; must be responsive and communicative. This role requires a positive and professional demeanor internally and externally.

Description
Hearts & Bones Rescue is an all-breed dog rescue composed of a network of fosters and volunteers who collaborate to rescue dogs from shelters in the south to find them loving, forever homes. Every day, there are thousands of animals killed in America's shelters because they do not have homes.
Prior to adoption, Hearts & Bones Rescue spays/neuters, vaccinates, and works through various medical issues for each of our adoptable dogs. We then place the dogs directly into forever homes or transfer to our dedicated rescue partners.
So, why "Hearts & Bones"? Rescue requires not only the heart, or compassion and love, for the animals that are in need, but also the bones - the grit, the strength, and the persistence to rescue these dogs from their former lives to give them the opportunity at a second chance.
