As a volunteer-based rescue, our volunteer team is vital to the success of our lifesaving work. We're looking for one or two strong candidates with volunteer management experience who can help man our inbox, maintain our volunteer databases, and assist with staff volunteer recruitment. We would love someone who is passionate about volunteer engagement and eager to assist with coordinating volunteer appreciation parties or fundraisers.

Learn the ins-and-outs of a dog rescue and be a part of our mission to end animal homelessness! This is a remote opportunity that is done primarily via email, but we prefer that our volunteer coordinators live in the greater NYC area as we have in-person volunteering opportunities at adoption events, transports, and would love someone who can help host get togethers.

Description

Hearts & Bones Rescue is an all-breed dog rescue composed of a network of fosters and volunteers who collaborate to rescue dogs from shelters in the south to find them loving, forever homes. Every day, there are thousands of animals killed in America's shelters because they do not have homes.

Prior to adoption, Hearts & Bones Rescue spays/neuters, vaccinates, and works through various medical issues for each of our adoptable dogs. We then place the dogs directly into forever homes or transfer to our dedicated rescue partners.

So, why "Hearts & Bones"? Rescue requires not only the heart, or compassion and love, for the animals that are in need, but also the bones - the grit, the strength, and the persistence to rescue these dogs from their former lives to give them the opportunity at a second chance.
