Between our three houses, we have 15 residents. We welcome volunteers who may want to bring in an activity (game, craft, music, dance, cooking, etc.) to do with our residents or are willing to help the residents with cooking, cleaning, or whatever may need done around the house. Because all of our residents attend our day program, the best times to volunteer at the houses are between 3:30-7:30pm Mondays through Fridays, or on the weekends. We have individuals and group who come on a one time, or yearly basis, as well as volunteers who come regularly, once or twice a month.
We welcome individual volunteers as well as small groups up to 15 people. We have welcomed people as young as cub scouts through retirees. We just request if you are younger than 8th grade and want to volunteer that a parent or adult comes with a child.
If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis we ask that you are fingerprinted/complete a background check and on-site orientation.

Description
Visitation Home was started 18 years ago as a home for people with and without disabilities to live together as family. Over the years we have expanded to include three houses and a day program. Our day program is a person-centered program serving adults with developmental disabilities in the Mercer County area. We focus on academic, social and life skill development. We believe in the dignity of all human life regardless of their situation. Our homes and day program are peaceful, loving, and joyful. We are looking for volunteers who will maintain the dignity of the environment.
