Dallas Fire Department and American Red Cross are joining forces to help save lives by installing free smoke alarms in at risk homes and share fire safety information to homeowners and their families.
Since the Red Cross began installing smoke alarms in 2014, volunteers across the country have saved 285 lives and have made thousands of homes safer by installing over one million smoke alarms. This year, from April 28th - May 13th, we will reach an exciting milestone as we install 100,000 smoke alarms in over 100 cities across the country - thanks to volunteers like you!
Dallas and Tarrant Counties are sponsoring "Sound the Alarm" events throughout the metroplex. Work in teams with local firefighters to install free smoke alarms and share fire safety information with residents and families. Look for other event dates listed in volunteermatch.org or go to: http://www.redcross.org/local/texas/north-texas/home-fire-safety
You do not have to be a Red Cross Volunteer to participate. All community members are welcome to help with this important program.
