Can you spare a few hours a month to help save a life? Lack of transportation has become a major problem for thousands of cancer patients. Many patients need daily or weekly treatments, often over a period of months, and they simply have no transportation or are too ill to drive. Family and friends may help, but sometimes it's just not enough. Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society service program that provides cancer patients with transportation to and from scheduled treatment appointments. Volunteer drivers donate their time to take patients to treatments and return them to their homes. We have a high need for folks traveling to Port Angeles or Sequim that need help. Most folks are going thru cancer alone and could use a ride and emotional support. If you are retired, work rotation shifts, have a day off during the week or are allowed to volunteer during work hours please call to see if it is a good way for you to give back to others. Plan a needed shopping trip with helping someone in need!
