Can you spare some time to help save a life? Lack of transportation has become a major problem for thousands of cancer patients. Many patients need occasional treatments usually at SCCA in Seattle, and they simply have no transportation or are too ill to drive. Family and friends may help, but sometimes it's just not enough. Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society service program that provides cancer patients with transportation to and from scheduled treatment appointments. Volunteer drivers donate their time to take patients to treatments and return them to their homes. We have a high need for folks traveling into Seattle. Most folks are going thru cancer alone and could use a ride and emotional support. If you are retired, work rotation shifts, have a day off during the week or are allowed to volunteer during work hours please call to see if it is a good way for you to give back to others. Patients In Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend need help getting into Seattle for treatment. Maybe you and a friend could enjoy a day in Seattle while helping someone out!
