Our day program runs Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm year round. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to commit anywhere from 1 day a week to several days a week. We need volunteers who are committed to serving those with disabilities through love and the respect for all human dignity. Most volunteers serve as an aide in a classroom or one-on-one help for individuals who need a little extra attention. We also welcome anyone who may want to share their talents with our participants, ranging from arts and crafts to music, and anything in between they may enjoy!
We welcome individual volunteers as well as small groups up to 15 people. We have welcomed people as young as cub scouts through retirees. We just request if you are younger than 8th grade and want to volunteer that a parent or adult comes with a child.
If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis we ask that you are fingerprinted/complete a background check and on-site orientation.

Mission Statement
Visitation Home is a Catholic community (open to all faiths) where people with developmental disabilities and those without, live together as family, called by the truth of the Gospel principle that human life is sacred at every stage and in every situation. We recognize our responsibility to grow in a spirit of openness, simplicity, and love through meaningful relationships. It is through these relationships that we discover each other's gifts and the inherent dignity of each individual.
Description
Visitation Home was started 18 years ago as a home for people with and without disabilities to live together as family. Over the years we have expanded to include three houses and a day program. Our day program is a person-centered program serving adults with developmental disabilities in the Mercer County area. We focus on academic, social and life skill development. We believe in the dignity of all human life regardless of their situation. Our homes and day program are peaceful, loving, and joyful. We are looking for volunteers who will maintain the dignity of the environment.
