House of Neighborly Service is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to Seniors.
You can volunteers once a week, once or month, or whenever it fits your schedule.
We provide home-cooked meals to seniors that are not able to pick them up on Tuesdays through Friday. Meal pick up is at 10:30 am and you can usually finish the delivery route of 20 or so meals by 12 pm.
This is a great opportunity for one person, or a pair and is family-friendly too. You need room for an extra-large cooler in your backseat or trunk.
We provide you addresses, route order, and contact information for the homes all in the 78207 area. All deliveries take place in a 5 mile radius.

Build community by serving warm, nutritious family-style meals and offering fellowship time for our seniors. Volunteers must purchase all supplies needed and prepare the meal offsite.Groups can serve Mondays and Fridays for lunch, as well as evenings and weekends.
This opportunity is best for volunteer groups, as we regularly have around 50 seniors attend our activities.

House of Neighborly Service provides opportunities which encourage, educate, and empower the families of our Westside community.
Description
House of Neighborly Service (HNS) has been providing social services to the children, families and seniors of San Antonio’s Westside for over 100 years. Our mission is realized through four primary program areas:
- Family Support: HNS prevents child abuse and neglect and helps families prepare their children for school through our Early Intervention Program. This involves parenting education, developmental and mental health evaluations, individual service planning and implementation, and respite care.
- Child Development: Our Kid’s Place Child Development and Treatment Center improves the social-emotional development of children enrolled in its multi-age classes while also addressing physical and intellectual development.
- Senior Health: We provide the seniors of our community with nutritional meals and meaningful activities to promote their physical and mental health.
- Food Security: Our food distribution program provides weekly boxes of fresh produce and other healthy food items.
These programs provide vital services that meet the identified needs of our Westside community throughout the lifespan.
