Help pack Hurricane Preparedness Packs.

Since 2007, Meals On Wheels of Tampa has been helping prepare our seniors and homebound neighbors for hurricane season.

We are providing shelf stable meal packs, a gallon of water, shelter information and a radio/flashlight combo to all of our 850 senior and homebound recipients, free of charge.

We need help stuffing bags with paperwork, inserting batteries into flashlights, putting stickers on flashlights and other general help that pertains to the 850 Hurricane Preparedness Packs that will be delivered.

Many of us have a plan for what to do when and if a storm hits. However, for many of the seniors and homebound throughout our community, there is no plan. This population is at a much higher risk of danger during a storm since they cannot leave their homes or gather supplies easily. The hurricane packs are vital and help provide peace of mind in case a normal meal delivery cannot be made due to a storm.

Since 1975, Meals On Wheels of Tampa has been providing hot meals and daily volunteer visits to neighbors in need. Today, we serve over 800 recipients. Meals On Wheels of Tampa is a 4-star charity and relies on its community for support by not accepting government funding.
