Dog Walking:

We are looking for volunteers to help walk Bradley. (see details below)

Please see the details below about Bradley and let me know if this would be an opportunity you would be interested in, and what days/time you are available for . Looking to start asap.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bradley is a 17 year old mixed breed. He is loving and gentle - good with people and other animals. Because of the health concerns listed below, it is important to let Bradley set the pace.

He will start out full of vim and vigor but quickly looses steam. Recently (I don't know if it is from the dementia or my willingness to let him take the lead) he has become

stubborn about where he wants to walk and when he wants to come back - lol.

Health concerns:

Heart murmur - Mild but is starting to bother him more. Let Bradley set the pace.

Kidney issues - nothing anyone needs to know except no food not provided by owner.

Extreme food allergies -important - cannot have any food not provided by me. Need to be scanning around for food dropped or thrown on ground.

Cataracts - getting worse but still a lot of light gets through. Shadows and noise startle him. Just be patient and reassure him.

Dementia - his dementia is still mild but outside when he gets startled he can shut down. Just give him a few seconds and speak gently to him and he will be fine. If you try to force him to move or get up it will only make it worse.

Bradley is a favorite here on campus so many people want to say hi and pet him. You just need to make sure he isn't getting overwhelmed. A lot of the times they have keys dangling from their wrists or holding things in their hands as they go down to pet him and he reacts badly (fear - not aggressive).
