Mentor2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for their future.

The majority of the mentorship is conducted over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship" - exchanging messages discussing both curricular assignments and life in general. This way of communicating allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules while still having a positive influence upon a student's life.

In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring hosted at Atlas Preparatory School and facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak. This is a great opportunity for co-workers who would like to volunteer in the community together. Once a month, you and your colleagues could leave work together, attend the event together - volunteering together.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age and have some form of post-secondary education, training or certification. Volunteers must also be able to pass a background check.

We are seeking people who can commit to the program for four years. We want to match students with a mentor from freshman year through graduation. We want to provide these students with an example of consistency and commitment.

This program is our biggest need for volunteers. Over the next three to four months, we need to recruit approximately 130 volunteers for the upcoming freshman class.
