Community Based Mentoring: Volunteers are matched with a child (ages 9 to 12) to be that child's mentor, positive role model, and friend. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with their match two to four times a month. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and the match relationship, offering assistance, guidance and counsel.
Volunteers must be 21 years of ago, have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and be able to pass a background check.
This is our traditional mentoring program for which Big Brothers Big Sisters of American is best and most known for, nationally.
Right now, Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak is in need of men to volunteer as mentors (Big Brothers). We currently have several Little Brothers enrolled waiting to be matched. Please consider volunteering! Also, please help us spread the word! Any and all help with recruitment is greatly appreciated!
We are hosting a volunteer orientation at our downtown offices in the Plaza of the Rockies this coming Wednesday, April 25th, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. An orientation will provide a comprehensive overview of volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Contact us if you are interested in attending!
