Mentor2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for the future.

The majority of the mentorship is conducted over a secure online platform (iMentor) as a "pen pal mentorship" - exchanging e-mails and messages about curricular assignments and life in general. This allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules.

In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring - hosted at Atlas Preparatory School and facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters. This program is ideal for companies or businesses who would like their employees to volunteer in the community: once a month, your team can simply leave work together to attend the event together.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age, and have some sort of post-secondary education, training or certification. Volunteers must also be able to pass a background check.

Also, it's ideal that volunteers plan to commit to the program for four years. We want to match students with mentors from freshman year through graduation. Many of these students are lacking examples of consistency and commitment in their lives, and we want to provide that. Also, it takes time to build a good relationship with a teen.

Right now, this our biggest need for volunteers. Over the next three to four months, we need to recruit approximately 130 volunteers to be mentors for the upcoming freshman class.
