All of our patients at Sloan's Lake Rehabilitation are there for short-term physical rehabilitation, and are facing some challenges in getting back to their normal lives. We are looking for volunteers to come in on the weekend mornings and do some readings with them. The readings will be motivational, uplifting, and spiritual without being specific to any particular religion. We would love to a volunteer (or small group) to come in on Saturday or Sunday morning around 8:30am and go visit patients in our dining room as they are eating breakfast. Youth are welcome to volunteer with adults! You would ask patients if they would like to hear a special spiritual reading for the day, and then let them choose from a selection of similar books, or just read the one you turn to. After visiting with people in the dining room, you could them go visit some patients in their rooms and make the same offer. To be successful in this position, you must enjoy chatting with new people and have a positive attitude. :) All application, orientation and background check can be completed online. Commit to every weekend, or even once a month-- we are flexible!

Description
We are a new, 45-bed rehabilitation center on the shores of Sloan's Lake in Denver. We look forward to bringing in volunteers to help our residents have a more pleasant stay while they're with us.
