People serve at ALIVE for a number of different reasons. Some come because they have come every year in the past, and love everything about it. Some come because it’s right in their neighborhood, and they can’t help but be a part of all of the commotion. Some come to fulfill volunteer hours and school requirements.
Some come because a friend or family member brought them. Whatever the reason,
the important question is not why you come, but what you gain from the experience. Passing out clothes is fun (and needed), and serving food is admirable, but these are not the reasons we hold ALIVE. The reason ALIVE exists is so that people (both the homeless and our volunteers) can experience what it means to feel ALIVE. We fully expect that for some of you, your lives will never be the same again. Your hearts will be stirred and you will start to think differently about the way you serve others. Some of you will be bombarded with emotions and feelings of discomfort from being very close to needy people. Some of you will have your hearts softened, and some will choose to harden their hearts. But one thing is for sure: everyone will be changed.

WE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER AS BOTH AN INDIVIDUAL OR AS A GROUP. PLEASE FILL OUT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FORMS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FEEL ALIVE NOVEMBER 9TH, 2019. PLEASE NOTE THAT VOLUNTEERS ARE PLACED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. SPOTS FILL UP, SO SIGN UP NOW! PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO GROUPS WHO CAN STAY THE WHOLE TIME. Ways to Get Involved:

CLOTHES SORTING: NOVEMBER 3RD, 2 PM-6:30 PM COOKING: NOVEMBER 7TH, 8:30 AM-1:30 PM CLOTHES MOVING: NOVEMBER 8TH, LATE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING
