At Make-A-Wish, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our chapter is proud to grant more than 300 wishes to local children each year!

Our Annual Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament will take place on May 19, 2018 at Morton’s Steakhouse. This event raises awareness and funds to help grant more wishes each year!

Events like this are only possible with the help of our dedicated volunteers! We are currently seeking volunteers to assist in a variety of roles.

We are in need of:

  • Greeters from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. to greet and provide each with name tags as they arrive
  • Chip Sales and Fund-A-Wish helpers from 9:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. to assist our guest with the check-in process at the beginning of the event

Our minimum volunteer age for this event is 21.

Dress Code : black slacks/skirt paired with a white top and comfortable shoes (business attire)

Food Drink :

  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided during your shift
  • You may choose to stay after your shift to continue enjoying the event, you will be asked to remove your name tag if you choose to consume alcoholic beverages at that point

Parking : There are many options around Morton’s downtown

The magical wishes we grant are only possible through the support of our community and our generous volunteers!

Please direct any questions to volunteer@necannv.wish.org or 916-692-3929.

Thank you for helping make wishes come true!

Mission Statement

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Description

Our Make-A-Wish chapter grants one wish every three days in the Central California region. Volunteers throughout our chapter support our mission work in wish granting, special events, community relations, corporate fundraising, community awareness and other critical areas. Volunteers work in local communities by impacting the lives of Central California children. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available. It is important to note that during this time, we have made volunteer orientations and trainings readily available virtually for the health and safety of everyone.

Wish Granter

Wish Granters work in teams of two as a liaison between a wish family and Make-A-Wish. They help determine a child's wish and play an instrumental role in helping to turn the wish into reality. You must be at least 21 years old, complete Wish Granter training, and be able to make two or more visits to the family during the course of the wish process. Wish Visits have recently become available to do virtually as well.
