ORGANIZATION: City of Napa Parks & Recreation Department

  • 1 person is interested

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic baseball coaches or people who are interested in coaching baseball for kids between the ages of 5-13. The Junior Giants league is 100% free, non-competitive baseball league that provides kids within the Napa community the opportunity to learn about baseball. The Junior Giants league starts June 11th and ends on August 4th. There is one practice every Monday and one game every Saturday.

Some of the coaches' main responsibilities consist of:

  • Lead your team in baseball activities and the Word of the Week programs
  • Be present and on time for all practices and games during the season
  • Keep track of all the equipment that is assigned to your team
  • Encourage participants to move outside their comfort zone of the field through positive reinforcement.
There are many benefits to being a volunteer with the Junior Giants, this can include anything from service learning and resume building to Giants tickets, pins and other benefits. At the end of the season, coaches are nominated for the Willy Mack award and will be subsequently recognized at the game.
