Young people add a special energy to a hospice volunteer program. Giving minors an opportunity to experience the field of hospice, and the care provided builds compassion and empathy. However, minors require additional supervision and protection. With that in mind, the Youth Volunteer Program is designed to allow minors to experience hospice within a safety net. the following conditions must be met for any minor looking to volunteer vat Bristol Hospice.

To be considered you must:

  1. Fill out an application
  2. Pass a background check (paid for by us)
  3. Take and pass a drug test and TB test (both paid for by us)
  4. Complete the Relias online training (12 modules)
  5. Must be a mature individual that is able to behave appropriately in a work and clinical setting
  6. Must have a parent/guardian signature on their application and policy acknowledgements
  7. Be at least 14 years of age
  8. Attend a mandatory orientation
  9. if the Youth Volunteer wishes to visit patients the must be accompanied by a parent/guardian that is also a Bristol Volunteer

Description

Bristol Hospice provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life in the greater Atlanta, Cobb, Gwinnett, West GA area. . We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to the terminal illness.

  • A minimum of a one hour visit, twice a month. Weekly visits, if needed.
