Preferred Hospice is currently in need of volunteers who are willing to visit with patients receiving hospice care. Patients need a companion, someone to encourage them and visit with them a few times a month. As a volunteer patient companion, you would be able to visit with patients, read to them, play games with them, or hold their hands. These visits encourage patients, lift their spirits, and provide comfort in a time of need. Patients often do not have many visitors and they depend on amazing volunteers like you. We serve patients everywhere within an hour radius of our office. We reimburse gas mileage to all volunteers. Hours and locations are flexible. We will work with your needs! We desperately need volunteers willing to drive to rural areas. Preferred Hospice will provide all the needed training. Please contact volunteer coordinators Christie Brown or Pam Workman at 417-581-4968 today to become a part of the Preferred Hospice family.
