Community Ambassador Event for Walk in Lockport

Volunteers play a pivotal role in the fundraising activities that make the work of the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter possible. Opportunities are available in planning, preparing for the event(s) and assignments on the day of the event(s).

Events include the Longest Day, Walk to End Alzheimer's, and various other community events in which the chapter is invited to participate (e.g.Buffalo Marathon, Run Jimmy Run, Corporate Challenge, Wingfest, etc.). See our website http://www.alz.org/wny for details on these events.

Commitment and age requirement varies depending on event and tasks.

Description

We provide programs and services to those with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia and their families. The Western New York Chapter serves all eight counties of WNY including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. We provide care consultations, a 24-hour helpline (1.800.272.3900), safety services, early stage programs, and education programs for caregivers, healthcare professionals and the general public. The Alzheimer's Association is also the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research. Together, we are elevating research, public policy, and awareness to unprecedented levels in pursuit of better treatments, a cure of a way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
