The Extraordinary Minister of Communion Volunteer will bring the Sacrament of the Holy Communion to Catholic patients who request/wish to receive the sacrament.
A. Pick up list of names and room numbers of patients to be visited in the chapel sacristy.
B. Introduce yourself to patient and administer the Sacrament of the Holy Communion.
C. Note Sacrament of the Holy Communion administered to patient(s) on printout.
D. Report pertinent information to on-call chaplain or chaplaincy secretary.
E. Record all visits on list of names and room numbers of patients and return list to sacristy.
F. Attend occasional Pastoral Care/Volunteer Continuing Education meetings as necessary.
The Extraordinary Minister of Communion Volunteer is responsible to the Director of Pastoral Care. He/she shall report to the department secretary or the Chaplain on-duty upon arrival to the department for special assignments; otherwise he/she will follow routine duties.
