We have chosen to create opportunities for all people to live in decent, durable shelter. We put faith into action by helping to build, renovate or preserve homes, and by partnering with others to accelerate and broaden access to affordable housing as a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. We promote decent, affordable housing for all, and we support the global community’s commitment to housing as a basic human right. We will advocate for just and fair housing policy to eliminate the constraints that contribute to poverty housing. Description

Key West nbad Lower Keys Habitat for Humanaity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build and repair homes using volunteer labor and donations. Since Hurricane Irma, our need for volunteers is greater than ever! With support from Habitat for Humanity International, our affiliate has hired a critical repair team dedicated to helping homeowners repair homes that were damaged due to the storm. Our volunteers work alongside homeowners and Habitat staff. We are seeking volunteers to assist in the Big Pine Key area daily, Tuesdays -Saturdays. If you can volunteer for one day, a week, or for any length of time, we can use your help! We welcome groups and individuals at ALL skill levels. Volunteers must be 16 or older to work with Habitat on construction sites. We also utilize volunteers at fundraisers and in our office.
