parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run, walk or job that takes place in a local park every Saturday morning. There are parkruns in nearly 20 different countries and there are now 20 parkruns in the US. Eagan parkrun takes place at Thomas Lake Park every Saturday morning at 9am (8am in the summer). parkrun is and will always be free to all participants through the work and support of our volunteers. Each week, we rely on 5-7 volunteers at Eagan parkrun to fill a variety of roles. The roles are Run Director, Barcode Scanner, Finish Tokens, TimeKeeper, Tail Walker, Photographer and Marshall... although some of the roles vary from week to week.
Volunteers need no prior training or expertise. Those under 18 will need to fill certain roles or be put with an adult.

Description
parkrun is the global network of free, weekly timed 5km run/jog/walks held in over 900 parks around the world. parkuns are created and conducted locally by volunteers. They currently exist in 9 communities around the U.S. and welcomes local initiatives to create new parkruns. parkrun provides the timing, results processing, event conduct and other infrastructure, including insurance, to help neighborhood volunteers organizes and conduct free parkruns where everyone is invited.
